How did ROMA360 come about?

It is very difficult to pinpoint the exact moment of ROMA’s inception. Throughout our experience working with the Low-Code GeneXus tool, we have undoubtedly had the opportunity to undertake more than 100 projects in different countries and technologies. This has given us the chance to acquire a wealth of knowledge over more than 25 years of developing software worldwide.

Our initial systems were seen in DOS environments, then we transitioned to Windows screens, evolved to web pages, and finally to Smart Devices. Today, most systems interact with services. The interesting thing is that amidst this mix of technologies (practically no DOS, although occasionally we handle a migration upon request), we’ve always had to be creative. In the majority of projects, even though we try to reuse knowledge, almost every project starts from scratch. This not only incurs economic costs but also requires time to retest things, almost as if they were new.

Thus, despite the final push coming as an epiphany (we will tell you more about that later), the fact of starting from scratch more than 100 times led us to the path of having a product that encapsulates all our knowledge in one place, but with a modular implementation specific to the client’s particular industry. In other words, it has been an idea in the making for several years, but it was waiting to mature before finally coming to light. Perhaps the explosion of Artificial Intelligence also gave us that extra boost we needed.

This story will continue because it is important to talk about the “ROMA philosophy,” which is a crucial pillar in the success of all our projects.
